Host: On today’s program: MasterChef Junior winner Liya Chu

Voice: What?

Host: The kids’ version of ‘MasterChef’, a world-famous TV show where amateur cooks compete to be crowned ‘best chef’.

Voice: Who?

Host: Popular contestant Liya Chu won the show’s 8th season, successfully out-cooking 15 other talented young chefs.

Voice: Where?

Host: Her parents are both from Taiwan. Liya was raised in New York, and was competing in the US edition.

Voice: When?

Host: She won aged 10. Because of the pandemic the season didn’t air right away, so Liya couldn’t tell anyone her news until she was 13!

Voice: Why?

Host: She says she started cooking in her parents’ restaurant. She was inspired by Michelin-starred Taiwanese chef André Chiang

Voice: How?

Host: Liya impressed from the first episode, making traditional honey-glazed eel with rice noodles. Chef Ramsay said “You can definitely cook Taiwanese, and it’s delicious!”
