Host: On today’s program: Global Inflation
Voice: What?
Host: The rate at which the value of a currency falls and, as a consequence, prices for goods and services rise.
Voice: How?
Host: The biggest reason right now is supply and demand. Especially for energy and food. Supplies are low, but demand is high, so prices go up.
Voice: When?
Host: Global inflation has been growing since early 2021, and continues to steadily increase
Voice: Why?
Host: Huge global factors, like the coronavirus pandemic or the war in Ukraine, are mostly responsible
Voice: Where?
Host: This is a global issue. But Brazil, Turkey, the USA, and New Zealand have so far been the hardest hit.
Voice: Who?
Host: Everyone in the world has been effected by this to varying degrees. However, as with any financial crisis, people on the lowest incomes have been impacted the most.
