Chuck: Great stuff. OK, Johnny, Ginger, I’ll give you a word, you give us a definition. First correct answer wins. Fingers on buzzers. Ready? … Word one: ‘Annual’ Ginger.

Ginger: Something that happens every year

Chuck: Correct! Ginger taking an early lead! Sally?

Sally: The Golden Bell awards are a yearly celebration of excellence in TV and radio. It’s one of three major annual awards in Taiwan, along with The Golden Melody and Golden Horse awards

Chuck: Word two: ‘Golden’ Ginger.

Ginger: When something’s made of gold. Or looks like gold, I guess

Chuck: Correct! You’re doing great Ginger! Sally?

Sally: The Golden Bell radio awards were last week, on October 15th! This year’s TV awards will be held over two days, with Variety Programs on October 21st, and Television Series on the 22nd

Chuck: Word three: ‘Variety Programs’ Ginger!

Ginger: Television series feature scripts, and actors … they’re dramatizations. So variety programs must be everything else!

Sally: Award-winners are decided by a select panel of judges. This year, for the first time, audiences can vote too, for the winners of ‘Most Popular TV Series’ and ‘Most Popular Variety Program’

Sally: This year, popular historical drama ‘Gold Leaf’ received a cool 16 nominations!

Chuck: Uh-oh! That sound means we’ve run out of time, and Ginger’s our winner with 4 points! Johnny! What happened?!

Johnny: I couldn’t keep up, Chuck! She was too quick for me!

Chuck: Gracious in defeat! I love this game …
