Host: A traditional Western holiday celebrating the spooky! With colorful costumes, carved pumpkins, parties, and LOTS of candy!
Voice: Why?
Host: Halloween began as an ancient pagan festival called ‘Samhain’, where folks would light fires and wear costumes to ward off spirits.
Voice: Where?
Host: Originally a Celtic holiday, it gained popularity when Scottish and Irish immigrants arrived in the USA at the end of the 19th Century
Voice: When?
Host: Every year on October 31st, the last day in the Celtic calendar, when it was believed the dead could walk among the living
Voice: How?
Host: Some traditional activities include bobbing for apples, carving Jack-O-Lanterns, telling scary stories and, of course, Trick-or-Treating!
Voice: Who?
Host: Be careful wandering the streets this Halloween! There could be vampires, witches, werewolves, zombies … all kinds of spooky dudes!
