Bobby: It’s the governing body of soccer around the world!

Chuck: Goal! One nil to Bobby! Sally?

Sally: Held every four years, the FIFA World Cup is a hugely prestigious international soccer tournament, contested by 32 of the world’s best national men’s teams.

Chuck: Word two: ‘Prestigious’ Harry.

Harry: Something people really admire and respect.

Chuck: Correct: one all!! Sally?

Sally: This tournament has been so prestigious for so long, it’s become the most widely viewed and followed single sporting event in history, with Oceania the only unrepresented continent this year.

Chuck: Word three: ‘Continent’ Harry.

Harry: It’s a big area of land, made up of close, neighboring countries. We’re in Asia, but there are lots of other continents!

Chuck: You got it! That’s Harry 2, Bobby 1. Sally?

Sally: Qatar 2022 will be this continent’s second world cup. The first in Asia was hosted by South Korea and Japan in 2002. To make up for Qatar’s intense summer heat, this tournament will, for the first time, be held from November 20th to December 18th

Chuck: Word four: ‘Intense’ Harry.

Harry: Something really extreme! Full of strength and force!

Sally: As always, this year’s contest promises to be really intense! Brazil are the favorites to win … but the world cup is famously fickle! It’s anyone’s game
