Host: Over 12,000 people have died as a result of the heatwave, more than half of them in Germany, where over 8000 deaths were recorded

Host: Thanks to droughts, fires, and an increased need for public services, all of Europe has now been affected.

Host: There have been three heatwaves this year, in June, July and August respectively, with many more expected in the years to come

Host: Experts say these extreme temperatures are a direct result of climate change, caused by poor environmental practices worldwide
